SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

OVERVIEW
Cartwheel Foundation, Inc. provides financial assistance to qualified students whose parents are unable to support them through high school or college. It aims to encourage students to finish their high school and college education and to return to their hometown to serve for 2 years. This program started in 1999 up to the present. Beneficiaries number up to 25 high school and college students and 60 pre-school students annually.

the scholars visiting MiarayonHISTORY
Cartwheel supported scholars that are natives of Miarayon. There are 9 high school and 4 college scholars for school year 1999-2000. All high school scholars are studying at San Isidro College in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, the nearest city to Miarayon, and college scholars study at Bukidnon State College and San Isidro College, both in Malaybalay, and at College Capitol College, Cagayan de Oro City.

 The scholars in Cagayan de Oro City board in students'dormitories and visit the Cartwheel Malaybalay house on weekends. The Cartwheel house in Malaybalay houses the scholars attending high school and college in Malaybalay City. They are supervised by the Bukidnon Project Officer. She handles a formation and tutorial program for the scholars to ensure their proper development and provide them with the moral support they need.
 
 

This is also used as the Cartwheel Mindanao office.


PRESENT
The scholars are doing well in as much as they need to adjust to city life and electricity. They are, however, gradually gaining confidence.

ACTION
For school year 2001-2002, Cartwheel supported a total of 15 scholars. Cartwheel is in search of more sponsors as new applicants for scholarship are accepted annually. Please click on YOUR ACTION for details on how to help this program.
